The global network of Zones now expands even further: Box Zones is generally available in the UK! Our first IBM-supported Zone introduces London as the primary storage location, with Frankfurt as backup.
We've expanded our reach in Europe so organizations can have even more choice and flexibility in how they address their data privacy and data residency concerns as they move to the cloud.
With Box Zones, organizations can choose the infrastructure partner – Amazon Web Services or IBM Cloud – and where they store their content worldwide, including Europe, Asia, Australia, or Canada.
The latest expansion of Box Zones is just one example of how Box enables organizations today to be truly global. In addition, Box continues to help our customers adapt to a rapidly evolving and complex, global data privacy landscape.
To learn more about the changing obligations for global data protection, including compliance with GDPR, and how Zones can help address residency and privacy concerns, register for our latest webinar, brought in partnership with IBM – Advice from the Experts: GDPR and Global Compliance Considerations. The webinar will be on Friday, May 26, 2016 at 10:00 A.M. BST, with Crispen Maung, the VP of Compliance at Box, and Mandy Chessell, Distinguished Engineer at IBM, who focuses on data protection and governance.
We're also proud to offer Box KeySafe, which lets companies manage their own encryption keys, and Box Governance, which allows organizations to apply document retention schedules and legal holds to their files in the cloud. These products, as well as Zones, make it easier than ever for organizations to adopt the cloud around the world.
Zones Europe on IBM is available now and customers can start using this today.
